Counseling Adults in Anchorage, Alaska
Parent Coaching Nationwide
Introduction
Hello! I’m Lisa, a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Anchorage, Alaska. My office is located in midtown next to the Bear Tooth Theatre. I have been a psychotherapist since 1996. I began my career in Fairbanks, Alaska, continued in Washington state, then Minnesota, and returned to Alaska to settle down in 2006. I also offer Parent Coaching via telehealth nationwide.
My style of counseling is conversational with a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, Complex-PTSD, anxiety, depression, parenting support, relationship issues, ADHD, and religious trauma.
I also offer Brainspotting (click to learn more about it). I rely heavily on evidence-based practices, interpersonal neurobiology, and attachment theory. I utilize all I have learned throughout my 28 years as a counselor to support you in developing a more fulfilling life.
I worked as a play therapist for 23 years before limiting my counseling practice to adults. I now use my 23 years of experience counseling children as a Parent Coach. In addition to my professional experience, I have the personal experience of raising two neurodivergent children and understand the unique challenges it brings.
(I no longer provide couples counseling or play therapy).
IN-PERSON OR TELEHEALTH : I am offering appointments in person (mid-town Anchorage) and via telehealth (at https://doxy.me/lawsoncounseling). See Contact page for more details about hours, location, and current availability.
